iViD® is a Surveillance Security System that harnesses the power of Computer-based Video Recording, to bring to the market a reliable and affordable alternative to traditional Closed Circuit TV/VCR based Security.
Developed and built in the United Kingdom by Intelligent Video Imaging Dynamics Ltd, this system offers more features and functionality than comparable systems costing much more. The system consists of four tightly integrated components.
The first component is the single piece of hardware that every standard iViD® system is built around, the proprietary iViD® Video Capture Processing Board, this 32-bit Board processes the complex video signals and regulates the flow of image data back into the system. It works with an external connector port, shown here, allowing it to have up to 32 video inputs simultaneously.
The secondary component of a DVR system comprises a specially designed computer system, a Server, built with specific high-tech components in order to ensure stability, durability, and upgradeability. Although this computer system has much in common with High - level PCs, its specialized video processor, hard drives and mainboard set it apart from those found in homes and offices. The remaining components, computer housing, ethernet card, modem, monitor, printer, etc., are mainly off-the-shelf, but high-quality parts, deliberately chosen for reasons that include stability, reliability, and serviceability.
The third component of a DVR system is the security and surveillance inputs - the sensors and cameras. While the DVR system has the ability to adapt to legacy cameras and sensors, the DVR system was designed to function at optimum efficiency with professional level equipment - superior input yields superior results.
The final component is the Remote Client. Remote Client Software is included, installing this software on a remote PC will turn the PC into a “Remote Client”. A Remote Client, combined with a high-speed internet connection, is capable of monitoring the video recordings of a DVR Server from half a world away. It also provides a means to store video data in another location that would not be affected by catastrophic damage to the primary DVR Server, thereby ensuring that valuable video records are preserved for later analysis.
The various iViD® product lines were designed for a wide variety of customers, ranging from small business large organizations and corporations. Systems can be customized for the individual client, featuring only those functions that are required, thereby keeping costs and complex controls to a minimum.
iViD® systems can be used practically anywhere video surveillance is required. Adaptable and flexible, product owners can use the various functions to monitor interior and/or exterior locations, using openly visible cameras or the more covert variety. The system can also be scheduled to function only during specific hours or under certain conditions. As well, all DVR systems support remote monitoring, enabling customers to check a DVR site without having to visit the location.
iViD® video is digitally captured, compressed, and stored on massive hard drives, where it can be reviewed at a later time on the local server, or remotely from another PC via Internet, Intranet (LAN/WAN) or telephone line. Today's computer industry is founded on constant change, development, and technological advances. With that fact in mind, we still use baseline specifications that adhere to rigorous standards when building our DVR systems. Every system is customized to our customers' needs, with the final result being a top quality product that is a combination of professional expertise and the latest and greatest technology.
