Advances in information and communications technology (ICT) are transforming the way businesses operate across the world.

With the power of the internet, location is no obstacle for companies seeking a global market for their products or services, while new technologies and software can streamline business processes, increasing efficiency and boosting competitiveness.

Now, ambitious businesses in North Wales will have an unrivalled opportunity to discover how new technologies can help them become stronger and more profitable at e-Business for Wales 07 in Llandudno on 23 October.

This free event organised by the Welsh Assembly Government will bring together experts from the public and private sectors to demonstrate how Welsh businesses can gain a vital competitive edge through effective use of ICT.

An exciting programme of keynote speakers, seminars, exhibitions and practical demonstrations will give delegates the opportunity to learn how to extend their global marketing reach, cut communication costs, and find out about brand-new technologies to help them drive their businesses forward.

The event will focus on three key themes:

• The Shape of Things to Come – looking at the latest technologies making waves in the business world today, such as Digital Business Ecosystems, an innovative means of linking a network of buyers, suppliers and manufacturers to share information and knowledge online.
• Smarter Working with ICT – how Voice Over IP, video-based technologies and new software are helping businesses work more flexibly and efficiently.
• e-Crime- how to protect your business – practical guidance on how firms can protect themselves from online fraud and e-crime, which costs Welsh businesses an estimated £160m a year.

Delegates will be able to experience first hand some of the latest innovations in ICT at the drop-in, interactive ‘demo zone’ with expert advisers on hand throughout the day to discuss any queries, while a wide range of public and private sector organisations will be taking part in the event’s flagship exhibition.

Ten interactive seminars on a range of topics suggested by SMEs will look in depth at subjects including online marketing, greener approaches to IT and computing, online invoices and payments and management information tools.
